Fresh concerns for royal security as past scandal resurfaces
Prince Andrew has once again drawn controversy after a shocking breach of privacy at Buckingham Palace came to light, raising new concerns over royal security and the protection of treasured heirlooms.
Just months after the Chinese spy scare that prompted involvement from King Charles and MI6, the disgraced Duke of York is facing renewed scrutiny. His only consequence from that earlier incident was being left out of the 2024 Christmas Walk with the royal family.
According to newly released files from the Jeffrey Epstein case, one of Epstein’s alleged victims revealed that his fixer had been escorted into the private quarters of Buckingham Palace during a meeting with Andrew. She even claimed she sat on the throne once used by the late Queen Elizabeth II — an alarming lapse in security.
Court testimony from other victims accused the same woman, whose name was redacted, of arranging them for “massages” that led to sexual assaults. Her claims also appeared in a “birthday book” from the Epstein files, where she listed numerous famous names she had encountered, including Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Naomi Campbell, Kevin Spacey, and Michael Jackson.
Andrew was previously stripped of his royal titles and patronages after settling a civil case with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. While he denies the allegations, his place in the royal family remains uncertain, with Prince William reportedly prepared to cut ties with him entirely.
So far, Buckingham Palace has not released any official statement regarding this reported security breach.
