Princess of Wales makes back-to-back visits in Suffolk and Kent after a short break

After a two-day pause from public duties, the Princess of Wales returned to a full day of engagements on Thursday, 11 September, as Harry moved towards the end of his four-day U.K. visit.

Catherine began in Sudbury, Suffolk, touring the historic Sudbury Silk Mills. She met design and production teams, learned about the site’s three-century heritage, and watched the looms at work. The visits were arranged to celebrate the skill and craftsmanship of British textile manufacturers, a sector she has long championed as central to the country’s cultural and creative life.

Later, she travelled to Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent, where she tried her hand at screen-printing a fabric design.

Today’s outings are her first since joining Prince William at the Women’s Institute near Windsor on Monday, 8 September, to mark the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. That same day, Harry paid his respects at his grandmother’s resting place in Windsor Castle. Although the households were only miles apart, they did not meet. Harry did, however, have a brief meeting with King Charles at Clarence House on Wednesday.
