The Princess of Wales shines during museum visit as online chatter continues over her new look
Kensington Palace has shared a new video message from Princess Catherine, just as her recent hair transformation continues to stir debate online.
The footage highlighted the Prince and Princess of Wales’ recent visit to the Natural History Museum in London, where they explored the newly redesigned gardens and learned about the impact of the National Education Nature Park programme. The initiative aims to inspire children to connect with nature through education, storytelling, and hands-on science.
In the clip, Catherine appeared cheerful as she and William chatted with staff, schoolchildren, and young people involved in the project. The palace statement accompanying the video read:
“Exploring how the @natural_history_museum is using environmental education with storytelling and hands-on science to engage children with the natural world. The National Education Nature Park Programme is inspiring young people to connect with nature, and to create more green spaces and habitats that benefit both wildlife and their community.”
While the royal visit was centred on environmental education, much of the online discussion has focused on Catherine’s noticeably lighter blonde hairstyle. Some critics suggested the change made her look older, sparking a wave of commentary across social media.
Supporters were quick to defend her, including Richard Dalton, a stylist who once worked with Princess Diana. Condemning the backlash, he said:
“I am shocked, horrified, dismayed and disgusted by all the nasty comments about the Princess of Wales today. A woman’s hair is very personal to her — it’s armour, defence, confidence, and so much more.”
