Monarch supports couple’s decision to raise children away from London
King Charles is showing his support for William and Catherine’s choice to bring up their children away from London’s busy life. According to GB News, the King believes this decision will not only give the family more stability but also help prepare William for his future role.
A source close to the royals explained: “If prioritising his family helps make him a better king, it’s got to be a good investment.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales have faced a difficult year, with Catherine undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment. Alongside personal challenges, William has also had to cope with the loss of his grandmother and strains within his family.
Later this year, the couple plan to move into Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom home in Windsor. Their 2022 move to Adelaide Cottage was seen as a trial run, and this next step will give them more space and a calmer setting for their children.
Charles himself is spending more time at Windsor Castle, wanting to be closer to his son and grandchildren. His support highlights not only his role as King but also as a father.
As one royal insider put it: “The whole point of having a Prince of Wales with his own household and resources is to give him the space and autonomy to do things differently.”
