King Charles III Plans First Call With Prince Harry’s Family in Three Years

Monarch Hopes to Reconnect With Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet

King Charles III is reportedly preparing to hold a virtual call with his estranged son Prince Harry and his family in Montecito, in what would be their first direct contact in three years.

According to royal commentator Rob Shuter, the 76-year-old monarch is eager to reconnect with Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The plan reportedly follows Harry’s recent steps toward repairing ties with the royal family.

“The King desperately wants to be a grandfather. He knows time is precious, and this is his chance to reconnect,” Shuter wrote on his Substack, adding that Charles “lights up” whenever he speaks about his grandchildren.

The King, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, last saw Archie and Lilibet during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 and has only met Lilibet once in person.

The proposed Zoom call is said to be arranged directly with Harry, though Meghan’s participation remains uncertain. “Whether she joins is up to her,” Shuter noted, stressing that “this is less about politics and more about family.”

Palace aides reportedly see the move as a possible first step toward a broader reconciliation and a chance for Harry to consider his family’s future ties to the United Kingdom.
