Palace supports cancer campaign as Harry and Meghan prepare for award night
Buckingham Palace has highlighted a special milestone for a cancer charity while King Charles continues his treatment.
On September 26, the royal family’s official Instagram account reshared a post from Macmillan Cancer Support, which is marking 35 years of its Coffee Morning initiative. The annual fundraising event encourages people across the UK to host gatherings that raise money for those living with cancer.
“Happy Coffee Morning! Today marks 35 years of the Macmillan Coffee Morning, and we can’t thank you enough for supporting it year after year,” the charity’s post read. “Whether you’ve been baking, decorating your showstopper or grabbing a readymade from the shop, we hope you have a brilliant day celebrating.”
In support, the Palace sent a message of encouragement: “Celebrating 35 years of @macmillancancer Coffee Mornings. Good luck to everyone hosting an event today.”
The gesture comes shortly before Harry and Meghan are set to receive Project Healthy Minds’ Humanitarians of the Year Award at the nonprofit’s World Mental Health Day Gala in New York on October 9.
