Duke of Sussex marks birthday at home after reuniting with King Charles
After an eventful trip to the UK and a surprise visit to Ukraine, Harry has made it back to Montecito just in time for his 41st birthday. The Duke of Sussex, who celebrated on September 15, was warmly welcomed home by Meghan, who seemed thrilled to have him back.
Meghan, who runs the lifestyle brand As Ever, hinted at his return in a lighthearted update on her company’s social media. She shared an Instagram Story showing a glass of Napa Valley rosé with the caption, “When your beau is back in town…,” suggesting they were toasting his homecoming.
Harry’s return comes after an important milestone: a private reunion with his father, King Charles. The pair had not seen each other in person for 19 months. Their last meeting was in 2024, shortly after the King’s cancer diagnosis, and lasted just half an hour at Clarence House. This time, according to both Buckingham Palace and a Sussex spokesperson, they shared tea together for nearly an hour. The meeting is seen as a positive step after tensions had flared during Harry’s legal battle with the UK Home Office over his security arrangements.
Following his stop in London, Harry quietly travelled to Ukraine for a series of engagements before heading home. He is now back with Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, ready to celebrate his birthday and enjoy family time.
