Prince Harry has been praised for his recent UK visit, which some see as a turning point in his efforts to mend relations with King Charles. The Duke of Sussex began his trip on September 8 by visiting the grave of his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, at Windsor on the third anniversary of her death. Over four days, he carried out a series of charitable engagements and quietly reunited with his father, earning a wave of positive coverage in the British press.
PR strategist Renae Smith described the visit as a “huge success” and encouraged Harry to maintain a “slow and steady” approach if he wants to repair family ties. Speaking to Express, Smith said Harry’s appearances felt “authentic” and “philanthropic,” noting that he avoided controversial remarks and kept the focus on his charitable work rather than himself.
“Philanthropy is his safest and strongest space,” Smith said. “It plays to his strengths without inviting controversy.”
Smith also highlighted how Harry’s private meeting with King Charles was handled with care. “It wasn’t dramatic, it didn’t spark gossip, and that quieter energy is exactly what he needs,” he added.
Harry’s positive reception comes amid reports that Prince William remains hesitant about reconciliation, signalling that the path to peace with his father may not be straightforward. Even so, experts believe Harry’s measured tone could help lay the groundwork for future talks.
