Kensington Palace issues statement as couple carries forward King Charles’ work
Prince William and Catherine shared an emotional message as the royal family navigates a turbulent moment. On September 23, the Prince and Princess of Wales returned to Southport, keeping their promise to revisit a community still recovering from tragedy.
The couple made a surprise appearance at a local school, spending time with children, teachers, and families affected by the shocking July 2024 attack on a Taylor Swift-themed class.
“A return to Southport today to see a community who are pulling together and healing in the wake of the tragic incident last summer,” their spokesperson wrote in a message posted with photos of the visit on Instagram.
Their visit came just as King Charles was confronted with troubling news. Sarah Ferguson faced backlash after a controversial email surfaced in which she described convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as her “supreme friend.” The Duchess of York later expressed deep regret through her spokesperson, but the damage was done. Several charities swiftly cut ties with the mother of the Duke of York’s daughters.
