King Charles struggles to reconcile as Camilla takes firm stand
Queen Camilla has reportedly drawn a firm line over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, despite King Charles’ ongoing efforts to mend ties with his son.
According to reports, Camilla remains deeply upset about what she views as Harry’s cruel attacks on her and the royal family, particularly in his memoir Spare and media interviews.
Insiders say the Queen has told close friends that she will never forgive Harry for the remarks he made, describing her as “calculating” and even calling her “the villain.” At 78, she is said to feel that the Duke of Sussex’s words caused lasting harm to her reputation.
“Harry’s attacks felt very personal to her,” a source explained, noting that while Camilla has endured public criticism for decades, hearing such accusations from Charles’ own son cut far deeper.
In Spare, Harry accused Camilla of forging connections with the British press to repair her image after her affair with Charles during his marriage to Princess Diana. In a 60 Minutes interview ahead of the book’s release, he went further, calling her “dangerous” for her willingness to trade stories with the media.
Despite Charles’ attempts to build peace, those close to the Queen believe she has no intention of moving past the accusations or softening her stance.
