Journalist Daphne Barak reveals shocking private exchanges with the Duchess of York
Sarah Ferguson’s recent admission has shaken those closest to her, leaving her family stunned and friends in tears. The revelation stems from a controversial email exchange between the Duchess of York and Jeffrey Epstein, uncovered by journalist and author Daphne Barak.
Speaking to GB News, Barak described her difficult conversation with Sarah, saying: “I like Sarah, and I spoke to her a few weeks ago. She told me, ‘this is not true, Daphne, this is not true.’ But I told her, I’m not going to do the dirty work for you. Either you said it or you didn’t, otherwise the public will assume everything in this book is true.”
Barak went on to reveal that she warned Sarah about more damaging revelations still to come: “I told her your name appears in plenty of documents, some written by you, Sarah. It’s not up to you anymore. It’s all being released.”
The journalist admitted she broke down when she was shown further letters linked to Sarah: “On Wednesday night, when I got the call that these letters had been found, I cried. I was shocked. I couldn’t believe anyone could write that.”
Barak explained that the discovery was particularly painful given her own work with children’s charities: “It was heartbreaking. To see those words written to a convicted paedophile—it was devastating.”
She described Sarah as someone who often avoids facing reality: “Sarah likes to hide, like an ostrich. But this time there’s nothing to think about. It’s coming.”
Despite her criticism, Barak admitted she has long sympathised with Sarah, even recalling how she knew about the Duchess’s cancer diagnosis months before it was made public: “I once told her sarcastically, maybe you’ll talk about your cancer and it will change your image. She did eventually go public, and I think she earned a lot of credit for that.”
Still, Barak concluded that the latest revelations may be the hardest chapter yet in Sarah’s long history of public reinvention.
