The Princess of Wales joins William at a memorial event for Queen Elizabeth II following Harry’s unexpected arrival
Catherine, Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at a memorial event on Monday, joining William, Prince of Wales just hours after Prince Harry quietly returned to the UK.
The event, held at the Women's Institute in Sunningdale near Windsor Castle, marked the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. The late Queen was a member of the Women’s Institute for eight decades. William had been expected to attend alone, but Kensington Palace confirmed just hours beforehand that Catherine had decided to accompany him, delighting attendees.
Footage shared by Rebecca English of the Daily Mail showed Catherine arriving in a grey checkered dress as the couple were warmly welcomed. Earlier in the day, they had paid tribute to the Queen by resharing a post from the Royal Family’s official Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Harry landed at Heathrow Airport after an 11-hour flight from California. According to the Daily Mail, the Duke of Sussex made a private visit to his grandmother’s grave at St George’s Chapel in Windsor before heading to the WellChild Awards in London. His return has prompted speculation about a possible meeting with King Charles III, though no such reunion has been confirmed.
