King Charles and Prince William Could Save the Monarchy with Three Bold Moves, Says Royal Expert

Experts suggest the King and his heir are just three decisive actions away from restoring the royal family's damaged reputation.

King Charles and Prince William have been urged to take three major steps that could help restore public trust in the monarchy, which continues to face backlash over Prince Andrew’s scandals.

Royal author Andrew Lownie, who wrote Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, believes the royal family can still repair its image—but only if firm action is taken. Speaking in a new Channel 5 documentary, 5 Days That Brought Down Prince Andrew, he outlined three key decisions: forcing Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge, stripping him of all titles including “Prince,” and sending him into a quiet exile.

“If the monarchy gets a grip and Andrew leaves Royal Lodge, loses his titles properly, and goes into exile, then I think the situation can be saved,” Lownie said. He added that growing public pressure to exile the Duke of York poses a “very dangerous moment” for the royal family if left unresolved.

Fellow commentator Daisy McAndrew also pointed out that Andrew’s association with Jeffrey Epstein has cast a long shadow over the King’s reign. “Charles waited longer than anyone in history to become King,” she noted. “Now in his mid-70s, battling cancer, his reign is being overshadowed by his brother’s scandals.”

Despite the controversy, reports suggest Andrew has asked King Charles for permission to move into Frogmore Cottage as his departure from Royal Lodge becomes more likely.
