Tensions rise between the former couple as financial strain and royal pressure take their toll
Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s long-standing arrangement at Royal Lodge is reportedly falling apart, with insiders saying the atmosphere inside the Windsor residence has turned “ugly.”
The pair, who divorced in 1996 but continued to live together in the royal property since the early 2000s, have faced increasing pressure in recent months. Ferguson—who has publicly supported her ex-husband through his many controversies, including his association with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein—appears to be losing patience.
Despite her past loyalty, sources told Closer magazine that cracks are now appearing in their relationship. The tipping point reportedly came after Buckingham Palace issued a statement confirming Andrew would relinquish his royal titles and military honours. Since then, the couple have allegedly begun blaming each other for their mounting troubles.
“Their fights are constant, it’s become so ugly,” one insider shared, adding that their daughters are “mortified by the constant headlines.”
According to reports, Ferguson feels Andrew “pushed” her into dealing with Epstein to secure a loan, leaving her to face the fallout. Andrew, in turn, has accused Ferguson of “always living beyond her means.” The ongoing tension has created what insiders call a “high-stress, high-stakes” situation inside Royal Lodge.
Adding fuel to the fire, there are whispers that Ferguson is considering writing a tell-all memoir that could expose damaging new details about Andrew in an effort to “save her own skin.”
