In the clip, the King is seen welcoming a delegation of Aṉangu Traditional Owners at Australia House in London, marking 40 years since the handback of Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa. His warm demeanour and bright smile have sparked optimism about his recovery, with many noting how healthy and engaged he seemed during the event.
A statement accompanying the video read, “It was an honour to meet a delegation of Aṉangu Traditional Owners at Australia House this morning, as The King joined guests to mark 40 years since the handback of Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa. The event was a poignant moment of reflection, celebration and storytelling, featuring an Inma (traditional dance) and video by Aṉangu.”
The Palace’s announcement in February 2024 that the King had been diagnosed with cancer shocked the world. Yet, throughout his treatment, he has continued to carry out selected royal engagements, showing unwavering dedication to his duties.
