The Duke of Sussex urges men to break the silence around mental and physical wellbeing
Prince Harry has spoken candidly about men’s health while his father, King Charles, continues treatment for cancer. Appearing without Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex joined researcher Zac Seidler, journalist Brooke Baldwin, and other guests for a discussion hosted by Movember — the global initiative that raises awareness about men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and cancer.
In the conversation, Harry emphasised how important it is for men to talk openly about their struggles. “We need to give men and boys permission to talk about these things,” he said, encouraging honest conversations about health and emotions. He added, “The goal is to make these discussions so normal that you can just have them with your mate.”
Movember’s official Instagram account also shared findings from the U.S. Real Face of Men’s Health Report, which highlights the urgent need to bring men’s health issues into the open. The report points out how addressing these challenges can have lasting effects on partners, families, and communities.
Harry’s remarks come at a sensitive time for the Royal Family, as King Charles continues his treatment following a cancer diagnosis earlier this year. His comments have been praised for shining a light on a subject that many men still find difficult to discuss.
