Royal fans accuse the Duchess of Sussex of trying to overshadow William’s major moment in Brazil.
Meghan Markle has once again found herself at the centre of royal controversy after unveiling a major career announcement that coincided with Prince William’s high-profile trip to Brazil.
The former Suits actress has been accused by royal watchers of deliberately timing her news to draw attention away from the Prince of Wales, who was attending the COP30 UN climate conference in Belem after visiting Rio de Janeiro.
Many royal fans took to social media to voice their frustration, claiming the move was “strategically planned.” One user on X (formerly Twitter) remarked, “Couldn’t this wait until Wills has left Rio?” Another wrote, “And she announces it conveniently whilst William is at Earthshot.”
Despite the criticism, Meghan appeared unbothered, remaining focused on her ambitions and moving forward with determination.
Meanwhile, Harry is currently in Canada fulfilling his duties as global ambassador for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. In a touching message to bereaved military children ahead of Remembrance Sunday, he reminded them that they are “not alone.”
“As Remembrance approaches, I wanted to write and let you know how incredibly proud we all are of you,” he said. “This time of year can bring a lot of emotions – pride, love, and sometimes sadness – as you remember your parent or loved one who served our country.”
The royal family also shared their own emotional tribute to mark the upcoming day of remembrance.
