Archewell’s latest Netflix project highlights a Ugandan children’s charity
Harry and Meghan Markle have released the first trailer for their newest Netflix project, Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within. The documentary premieres on 9 December and marks another collaboration between the couple’s Archewell Productions and the streaming platform.
Meghan shared the trailer on her Instagram Stories and added a like to Netflix’s post, which described the film as a look behind the viral dance videos that turned a group of Ugandan children into a global source of joy and hope.
Announced three months ago as part of the couple’s renewed Netflix deal, the film was shot in Uganda’s Masaka region. It focuses on a local charity whose orphaned children have captured worldwide attention by transforming hardship into performances filled with energy and happiness.
Neither Meghan nor the Duke of Sussex appear in the documentary, and they did not travel to Uganda for production, but both are credited as producers.
The Masaka Kids’ videos became a favourite in the Sussex home during the COVID-19 lockdown. A spokesperson told The Telegraph in August that the couple often watched the clips with their son and had admired the charity long before the film opportunity came to them in 2023.
