Patrick J. Adams shares a homage online while Meghan’s past praise for the filmmaker resurfaces
Meghan Markle once spoke warmly about Rob Reiner’s work, revealing in a 2022 interview that she had watched When Harry Met Sally countless times and missed the era of classic romantic comedies.
In the Variety interview, the Duchess of Sussex said she was drawn to lighter, feel good films, singling out Reiner’s iconic movie alongside Julia Roberts rom coms as favourites she returns to again and again.
Following reports of the tragic deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, many Hollywood figures took to social media to pay their respects. Meghan, however, has not made any public comment, a silence that has been noted by some of her fans.
Her former Suits co-star Patrick J. Adams was among those who did share a tribute. In an Instagram story, he posted a quote attributed to Reiner criticising violent films that treat destruction lightly, praising a more thoughtful approach to storytelling.
Meanwhile, US media report that Reiner’s younger son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the stabbings. He was arrested after the couple were found dead at their Los Angeles home in the Brentwood area, with the case now moving through the courts.
