Source claims the monarch wants her to help heal the Sussex family rift
King Charles has reportedly placed an unexpected request on Catherine, the Princess of Wales, by asking her to help repair relations with Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to National Enquirer, a source claims the King has been testing Catherine’s patience by pushing her to take an active role in mending ties with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The insider said Charles wants the Sussexes welcomed back into the royal family and believes Catherine should be central to making that happen. This is said to be despite the well-known strain between Catherine and Meghan.
“Charles has ordered Catherine to play a role in welcoming them back,” the source claimed. “He knows the Sussexes have made mistakes, but he’s willing to forgive them.”
The insider added that the King’s own health struggles have influenced his thinking. While continuing to lead the monarchy during cancer treatment, Charles reportedly feels the ongoing family conflict is unnecessary.
“He genuinely believes the infighting is pointless in the bigger picture,” the source said. “As far as Charles is concerned, this drama has gone on long enough and he has no patience left for it.”
Harry has previously spoken about the roots of the tension between Catherine and Meghan, saying it dates back to the time of his wedding.
In his memoir Spare, he claimed Meghan was left in tears after a tense exchange of messages with Catherine over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress. However, later reports suggested that Catherine was the one who became upset by Meghan’s messages, adding to the confusion around what really happened.
