Prince William is said to be using his authority to stop a new Diana documentary from going ahead
Prince William has reportedly promised to do everything in his power to stop his brother’s next project.
According to Closer Magazine, the Prince of Wales strongly opposes Harry’s plans for a documentary marking the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. A source claims William is particularly upset because Meghan Markle would play a major role in the production.
The insider said William does not like the idea of Diana’s legacy being turned into a commercial project and is especially uncomfortable with Meghan helping to shape how the story is told.
“Harry wants to honour his mother and share her story,” the source said. “He doesn’t think he needs William’s approval to do that.”
But they added that Meghan’s involvement is what has pushed William over the edge. “William does not want her anywhere near his mother’s story. He feels sick that Harry, and by extension Meghan, would disrespect Diana’s memory and make money from it.”
Details of the project have not yet been made public, but it is expected to be produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex under their multi-million-pound Netflix deal.
“William has made it clear he is ready to block this however he can,” the source said. “That could mean legal pressure or using his influence to shut it down.”
“To him, this crosses a line. He believes his mother is being exploited, and he will not stand by and allow it to happen.”
