Catherine Receives Special Gift for Herself and Prince William During Wales Visit

Catherine received a thoughtful gift for herself and Prince William while carrying out engagements in Wales, where she highlighted craftsmanship, sustainability and community creativity.

During the visit, the Princess of Wales met the team at Hiut Denim in Cardigan to learn about their design process, production journey and focus on sustainability. A palace statement praised the brand’s approach, noting that its ethos of buying less and buying better shows how skill, creativity and responsibility can work together.

Hiut Denim later shared images from the visit, saying it was an honour to welcome Catherine, Princess of Wales to their factory. The company said the visit recognised its mission to support British textile craftsmanship and the dedication of its makers in Cardigan, where jeans-making has been part of the town’s heritage for generations.

To mark the occasion, the brand gifted Catherine the first pair of its new women’s style, the Mari, which is set to launch in April. Prince William was also included, receiving a pair of Hiut’s Hack jeans.

Catherine also spent time at the Welsh Quilt Centre, where she heard how quilting can foster connection, purpose and a sense of belonging. The palace said the visit was a chance to see how creativity, from historic pieces to works in progress, continues to bring people together across generations.

The Wales trip underlined the Princess’s ongoing interest in supporting local skills, heritage crafts and community wellbeing, while also offering a personal moment marked by a meaningful gift shared with Prince William.
