King Charles addresses Andrew scandal, says Palace will cooperate with police

Statement follows a week of public heckling over his brother’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein

King Charles has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, saying the Palace would cooperate fully with police if asked.

In a statement issued by a Buckingham Palace spokesperson, the King expressed deep concern about allegations that continue to emerge about Andrew’s conduct. While stressing that the claims are for Andrew to address himself, the Palace made clear it would support law enforcement if contacted.

“If we are approached by Thames Valley Police, we stand ready to support them as you would expect,” the statement said. It also added that the King and Queen’s “thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain with, the victims of any and all forms of abuse.”

So far, Thames Valley Police has not contacted the Palace in relation to claims that Andrew, during his time as the UK’s trade envoy, shared classified reports with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The statement comes amid growing public pressure on the King to take firmer action against his disgraced brother. That frustration has spilled into public appearances, with Charles being heckled twice in a single week.

Royal author Robert Jobson highlighted the issue in a recent post, saying the Epstein controversy is now following the King wherever he goes. During a visit to Clitheroe in Lancashire, Charles was again challenged by a protester as he arrived at the local train station.

A member of an anti-monarchy group was heard shouting, “How long have you known about Andrew?”

The repeated heckling reflects wider public anger, with critics arguing that the royal family should be more outspoken about Andrew’s past association with Epstein and the unresolved questions that continue to surround it.
