The Prince of Wales was asked about his favourite movie and did not hesitate to bring up Tom Cruise. With a smile, he admitted he might not be completely impartial.
“I’ve got to be careful because I’m a little biased to a particular person,” he said, before praising Top Gun: Maverick as one of the most impressive films he has seen in years.
William spoke warmly about the blockbuster’s success and Cruise’s commitment to performing his own stunts. He questioned how such a commercially successful and technically ambitious film could leave awards ceremonies empty-handed.
“It just doesn’t win anything,” he remarked, clearly puzzled that a film of its scale and popularity has not taken home more trophies. For him, the dedication to action sequences and the sheer box office power deserve recognition.
The royal also revealed that the enthusiasm for Cruise’s high-octane films extends beyond himself. He shared that his children are just as captivated by the daring stunts and cinematic spectacle.
