Prince William is reportedly furious after learning that Harry is working on a Netflix project inspired by the life of their mother, Princess Diana.
According to a source quoted by Radar Online, William feels deeply uncomfortable with the idea of Diana’s story being turned into profit-driven content. The insider said he believes a personal boundary has been crossed and finds the whole concept distasteful.
“From William’s point of view, this goes beyond anything that’s happened before,” the source claimed. “He sees it as a fundamental line being breached. In his mind, turning Diana’s life into a commercial project is deeply disrespectful, and he’s convinced she would never have wanted her story used for profit, especially by a streaming platform.”
The source added that Netflix’s involvement has only made matters worse for the future king. William is said to still be upset about how royal history was portrayed in The Crown, which aired on Netflix.
“The fact that Netflix is involved is enough to make William bristle,” the insider said. “He’s never really let go of his anger over The Crown and what he feels it represented. For him, this new project drags all of that resentment back up and feels like reopening a fight he thought was over.”
The reported project, said to be linked to Princess Diana’s life, has not yet been officially confirmed by Prince Harry or the streaming giant, but it is already stirring tension behind palace walls.
