Andrew Reportedly Asked William for Forgiveness During Last Public Meeting

Expert claims the tense exchange happened at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral, but the Prince of Wales appeared unimpressed

Andrew reportedly used his final public meeting with his nephew, Prince William, to ask for forgiveness.

According to a lip-reading expert, the moment took place during the funeral of the Katharine, Duchess of Kent last September. Members of the Royal Family gathered at Westminster Cathedral to pay their respects.

Reports claim Andrew approached William during the service and attempted to clear the air.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Daily Mail that Andrew appeared to tell his nephew he had reflected on his actions and hoped he might be forgiven. According to the expert’s interpretation, Andrew suggested he had learned from what had happened and asked whether William could forgive him.

Earlier in the interaction, Andrew was also seen greeting William and Catherine, Princess of Wales politely, asking how they were. Catherine reportedly responded courteously, thanking him.

However, Hickling suggested William seemed uncomfortable during the exchange before responding by asking Andrew what he wanted.

Royal commentator Tom Sykes has also claimed the meeting was tense. According to him, Andrew tried to seek forgiveness and understanding, but William did not appear receptive.

The Prince of Wales is said to believe his uncle must face serious consequences following the controversies surrounding him. Reports suggest William has supported efforts to further distance Andrew from royal duties and influence.

Sources close to the future king have also claimed that William previously supported removing Andrew from the line of succession when he was stripped of his military and royal titles.

The latest developments, insiders say, have only strengthened William’s determination to see his uncle permanently pushed aside from the monarchy’s future.
