Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Accused of Living in ‘Fantasy’ as Industry Frustrations Grow

Experts claim repeated clashes with major platforms highlight deeper challenges in their post-royal career path

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are once again facing criticism, with industry observers suggesting the couple may be out of step with the realities of building a media empire.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly encountered similar setbacks with major streaming platforms, following their high-profile fallout with Spotify and ongoing scrutiny around their Netflix partnership. These developments have fuelled claims that the pair are difficult to collaborate with.

Media commentator Bronte Coy, speaking to The Sun, questioned the recurring nature of these situations, asking why things “always end like this.” According to Coy, multiple sources across different outlets have echoed a similar concern, describing the couple as challenging to work alongside.

He explained that this growing reputation could pose a serious obstacle as Harry and Meghan attempt to establish themselves in the entertainment industry after stepping back from royal duties.

Coy also pointed out that while the couple moved to the United States with ambitions of becoming successful TV producers, their output has largely centred on content based on their personal lives. He suggested they have struggled to secure scripted projects, adding that a lack of strong original ideas for fictional content may be part of the issue.

The expert further noted that Meghan Markle, in particular, has often leaned towards projects that draw directly from her own experiences. While this approach can be effective, he argued it may also become draining over time, as it blurs the line between public storytelling and private life.

As scrutiny continues, questions remain over whether the couple can shift direction and find lasting success in a highly competitive media landscape.
