Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s spokesperson shares update on Australia trip

The Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle are expected to travel Down Under in mid-April

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has offered a brief update about their upcoming visit to Australia, which is expected to take place in a few weeks.

According to The Evening Standard, the representative confirmed that the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle will head to Australia in mid-April for several engagements.

“Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will visit Australia in mid-April to take part in a number of private, business and philanthropic engagements,” the spokesperson said.

While the announcement confirmed the timing of the visit, further details about their schedule have not yet been revealed. The spokesperson added that more information will be shared closer to the trip.

The visit will mark the couple’s first return to Australia since stepping back from their roles as senior royals in 2018.

Despite no longer carrying out official royal duties, their calendar has remained busy. Just last week, the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle travelled to Jordan following an invitation from World Health Organization director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

During the visit, they also met with staff from World Central Kitchen in Amman who are helping coordinate food relief efforts for Gaza.

However, the trip drew mixed reactions online, with some critics describing it as a “pseudo-royal tour.” Others pointed out that the couple had previously called for greater privacy but later signed high-profile deals with Netflix and Spotify.
