Flag expedition across Britain signals build-up to major summer event
Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation has released a new update as anticipation grows around Meghan Markle’s expected return to the UK later this year.
The foundation announced on Instagram that the Invictus Games flag will travel across the country this spring as part of a special “Full Circle Expedition.” The journey will see members of the Invictus community carry the flag by sea, stopping at 22 ports across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
According to the charity, the voyage will take place aboard vessels named Spirit of Falmouth and Pellew. The expedition is designed to highlight resilience and recovery, while reflecting the enduring spirit behind the Invictus Games.
The initiative also aims to show that recovery extends beyond sport. By bringing participants together through shared challenges at sea, it focuses on rebuilding confidence, teamwork and a sense of purpose.
The update comes shortly after reports that Meghan Markle is expected to join Harry in the UK this July for a special Invictus Games-related event. It would mark her first visit to Britain in four years.
She is expected to attend the event in Birmingham alongside Harry, though it remains unclear whether their children will accompany them.
Meghan previously supported the Invictus Games in Canada last year, where she spent several days attending events. She also appeared in Vancouver and Whistler in 2024 to help promote the upcoming games, founded by Harry to support wounded and injured service personnel.
