Actor receives OBE for services to drama and charity during special investiture ceremony
Prince William honoured Harry Potter star Warwick Davis with an OBE during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.
The Prince of Wales presented the award to the actor, widely known for playing Professor Flitwick in the popular film series, in recognition of his contributions to drama and charity.
Warwick Davis was included in King Charles’ New Year Honours list for 2026 alongside other notable figures such as Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo.
The 56-year-old actor appeared delighted as he received the honour from the future king. Photographs from the ceremony showed him smiling and shaking hands with Prince William.
Davis attended the special event with two of his children, his son Harrison and daughter Annabelle, who joined him for the memorable moment.
According to reports, Davis was born with a rare form of dwarfism known as spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita.
During the same ceremony, Prince William also recognised achievements from another field by presenting an MBE to footballer Greenwood, 32, for her services to the sport.
The investiture marked Prince William’s first official engagement since he and Catherine joined King Charles and other members of the royal family at the Commonwealth Day Service earlier this week.
Photos from the event were later shared on social media by the palace, showing the King and Queen attending the service at Westminster Abbey alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Princess Royal, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
This year’s Commonwealth Day celebration focused on the theme “Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth,” highlighting cooperation and shared progress across member nations.
