Prince William is reportedly pushing for a full police investigation into the long-running controversy surrounding his uncle Prince Andrew, with sources claiming he wants the issue resolved before he eventually takes the throne.
According to insiders, the Prince of Wales is increasingly frustrated by the lingering questions connected to the scandal and believes the monarchy cannot afford unresolved controversies once his reign begins.
A senior palace aide told Radar Online that, from William’s perspective, there should be no unanswered questions hanging over the institution when he becomes king.
The source added that the situation involving Andrew has dragged on for years and should be properly confronted rather than quietly tolerated behind palace walls. That stance, the insider suggested, has led some to see William as taking a tougher approach within the royal family.
William reportedly believes delaying difficult decisions only weakens the monarchy. The insider said he feels the royal family must address the issue directly, ensure transparency and allow matters to be handled through proper legal channels before he inherits the crown.
The Prince of Wales is said to be aware that the public expects accountability from institutions, including the monarchy. Because of that, he believes any serious concerns about behaviour should be examined openly through legal processes instead of being dealt with privately.
As the heir to King Charles III, William is also conscious that the monarchy cannot appear to protect privilege or avoid difficult truths.
According to the source, he believes setting clear boundaries now and allowing the law to run its course would help ensure that the monarchy he eventually leads remains trusted and respected.
The insider also claimed William views the scandal linked to Andrew as damaging to the royal family’s reputation. They suggested the Prince of Wales is determined to protect the monarchy’s image and future, describing Andrew as a figure he prefers to keep at a distance.
