According to insiders who spoke to OK!, the fallout from Andrew’s scandal has heightened caution inside the palace. Senior figures are now said to be far more reluctant to consider any future arrangement that would allow Meghan Markle and Harry to balance royal duties with private commercial ventures.
A close source told the publication that the situation involving Andrew has made palace officials more sensitive to the risks tied to mixing official responsibilities with personal business interests. The episode, they said, highlighted how quickly reputational concerns can grow and damage the monarchy’s public image.
Because of that, decision-makers are reportedly far less open to revisiting the kind of hybrid model once discussed for the couple. Under such an arrangement, Meghan Markle and Harry would have continued representing the monarchy while also pursuing independent business projects.
The insider claimed that recent events have significantly reduced any appetite for that type of compromise.
