Reality star recalls how their early business days led to launching the famous Dash boutique
Khloé Kardashian has looked back on the early days of the Kardashian sisters’ business journey, admitting that she and her sisters were still figuring things out when they first launched their boutique, Dash.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s The Morgan Stewart Show, Khloé reflected on how she and her sisters, Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, started the clothing store around 2006, long before their global fame.
She explained that at the time the sisters had little experience running a business and were learning everything as they went along.
Khloé revealed that the idea of doing a reality television show came shortly after Dash was launched, but the sisters were not immediately interested in the concept.
“At first we were like, ‘We’re not doing this,’” she said while recalling their initial reaction.
According to Khloé, it was their mother, Kris Jenner, who convinced them to reconsider by framing the show as a marketing opportunity for their boutique.
She explained that Kris described the reality series as essentially a “free commercial” for the store, knowing how protective her daughters were about the business they had just started.
“All we wanted to do was the store,” Khloé said, noting that their focus at the time was entirely on building Dash.
The reality star also shared that in those early days the sisters ran the shop entirely on their own.
“We had no employees. It was just me and Kourt,” she recalled, explaining that they handled everything themselves, including cleaning the shop, doing the taxes, and preparing the clothes for display.
Khloé admitted that they had little idea what they were doing at the time, but they pushed forward regardless.
She also shared a personal memory from that period following their father’s passing, explaining that Kourtney had been using a credit card that was still in their father’s name, which she joked about while acknowledging how unusual the situation sounded.
Looking back, Khloé said those early experiences shaped their journey, turning what began as a small family-run boutique into one of the first steps toward the Kardashian family’s rise in business and entertainment.
