Edward reportedly delivers a quiet message from King Charles during rare Sandringham meeting
Prince Edward is said to have held a private meeting with Andrew after becoming the first royal family member to visit him following his arrest earlier this year.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly received the visit at Sandringham after months of distance from other members of the family. The disgraced former royal has largely been kept away from the wider royal circle amid continuing controversy surrounding his connection to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
According to reports, Edward travelled to Sandringham and was expected to stay at Wood Farm, a property he often books during Easter visits. However, sources claim the Duke of Edinburgh had to move his stay to the main house because Andrew has been refusing to leave the residence.
A friend told The Sun that Edward was the only royal relative to check in on Andrew after he left Royal Lodge. The source also alleged that Andrew has been largely isolated, with even his daughters and former wife keeping their distance.
Edward is known to have spoken publicly about the importance of remembering the victims connected to Epstein. In earlier comments, he stressed that it was vital to always keep the victims at the centre of the conversation.
Sources say Edward used the visit to have a quiet conversation with Andrew, which may have included passing along a message from King Charles regarding the ongoing situation.
The King is believed to be increasingly frustrated with the continued drama surrounding his brother, particularly as the monarchy tries to maintain stability and avoid further controversy.
Andrew has already been barred from several royal privileges, including horse riding in certain royal spaces, and has been instructed to stay out of the public spotlight. Reports also suggest he has been asked to return valuable artwork that he allegedly kept from royal collections.
The private meeting has fuelled speculation that the King may be tightening control over the situation as pressure continues to mount around Andrew’s position within the royal family.
