Commentators say a reported Netflix project may further strain the brothers’ already fragile relationship
Prince Harry has been warned that a new project linked to his mother’s legacy could further damage his relationship with his brother William.
Reports suggest the Duke of Sussex is working on a three-part Netflix documentary to mark the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. However, commentators believe the move could reopen tensions between the two brothers, whose relationship has remained strained in recent years.
TalkTV host Mark Dolan said producing a documentary about Diana without William’s support could push the relationship to a breaking point.
Speaking to Sky News Australia, Dolan claimed that moving ahead with the project without William’s approval could effectively end any chance of repairing their bond. He added that such a decision would likely spark a major fallout between the siblings.
Concerns about the potential project have also been raised by royal correspondent Rebecca English. Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, she suggested that Harry’s involvement in another documentary about their mother could place him at odds with William.
English noted that while both brothers have previously taken part in projects honouring Diana, William now appears to prefer a quieter and more private approach when it comes to remembering her.
