Prince William and Catherine Send Good Luck Message as Women’s Six Nations Begins

The Prince and Princess of Wales highlight their friendly rugby rivalry ahead of the 2026 championship kickoff.

Prince William and Catherine shared a supportive message for players and staff as the 2026 Women’s Six Nations Championship gets underway on Saturday, 11 April.

A day before the tournament began, the Prince and Princess of Wales wished all participating teams the best, encouraging them ahead of the international rugby union competition.

“Here’s to an exciting start to the tournament and some unforgettable rugby,” the couple said in a message posted on their official social media accounts.

The championship also brings attention to the couple’s well-known friendly rivalry when it comes to rugby patronages. William has served as patron of the Welsh Rugby Union since 2016, while Catherine became patron of England’s Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League in 2022, taking over the roles previously held by Harry, the Duke of Sussex.
