Catherine, Princess of Wales has revealed she recently started playing padel and enjoys the sport with her parents, Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton.
Catherine made the comments while attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace alongside Prince William on behalf of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
While chatting with guests, the Princess of Wales said padel is an ideal sport for people who do not regularly play tennis, although she admitted tennis still remains her favourite.
The palace gathering marked the second garden party hosted this week. Earlier in the week, King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed guests for the first summer garden party of the season.
According to the royal family’s official website, more than 30,000 people attend garden parties at Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse each year.
The events are designed to give members of the royal family an opportunity to meet people from different communities who have made positive contributions through public service and charitable work.
The royal website also notes that the traditional summer garden parties evolved from historic debutante presentation events into modern celebrations recognising community achievement and service.
