Catherine, Princess of Wales shared a heartfelt personal message after completing her two-day visit to Italy, describing the experience as both “deeply moving” and unforgettable.
The Princess of Wales wrapped up her trip on Thursday in Reggio Emilia, where she spent time learning about early childhood education and community-focused programmes.
Through the official Instagram account of William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, the future Queen shared touching photos from the visit, including moments with children and local families.
Reflecting on the experience, Catherine wrote, “Over the past two days in Reggio Emilia, I have seen first hand the power of nature and creativity that put human connection at the centre of a child’s world.”
She continued, “I have had such a deeply moving and unforgettable time here. Thank you to the people of Reggio Emilia for welcoming me into a culture of care with such warmth and generosity.”
The Princess also highlighted the importance of supporting children during their earliest years, adding, “Our collective work in early childhood must be to protect and nurture the connections that form the foundations of life-long wellbeing.”
Catherine ended the message with the Italian phrase “Grazie di cuore,” meaning “thank you with all my heart,” before signing off with her initial, “C.”
The visit was part of Kate’s efforts to study international early childhood education models while expanding the global reach of her foundation’s work.
The tour, which ran from May 13 to May 14, also marked Catherine’s first official overseas engagement since her cancer diagnosis and recovery in 2024.
