King Charles has reportedly left his estranged son Harry feeling disappointed after returning to the UK from his recent state visit to the United States, where the Duke of Sussex lives with Meghan Markle and their children.
The monarch and Queen Camilla travelled to the US last week and carried out several official engagements, including the King’s address to the US Congress. However, reports claim Charles did not meet Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie or Lilibet during the trip.
According to insiders quoted by Heat World, Harry had hoped to spend some private time with his father while he was in America, but the meeting never happened.
A source claimed, “Harry was really pushing to get some face-to-face time with Charles during his visit to America, but he had to accept that it wouldn’t happen. He’s now on a mission to arrange a call with his father so they can hash everything out.”
The insider added that although Harry was upset by the decision, he is trying not to create further tension within the family.
“It’s certainly not what he envisioned, and it’s definitely a real kick in the teeth that Charles didn’t make time for him, but Harry isn’t making a fuss about it because he’s very aware that he has to tread carefully right now,” the source continued.
Following the conclusion of the visit, Buckingham Palace shared a heartfelt message alongside a photo of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The statement read: “Farewell and thank you for the warmth of your welcome and the kind support you gave us throughout our first visit to the US as King and Queen, in this, your special anniversary year.
“We leave a piece of our heart behind and take a little of yours back home with us. Until the next time… God Bless America.”
