King Charles supports digital learning during Belfast visit

King Charles III met young people developing digital and career skills during a visit to W5 LIFE in Belfast as part of his annual trip to Northern Ireland alongside Queen Camilla.

The engagement was highlighted in a joint Instagram post shared by The King's Trust and the British royal family, showing the monarch speaking with students involved in the programme.

The visit also formed part of celebrations marking the organisation’s 50th anniversary.

According to the post, W5 LIFE is helping young people gain confidence and practical skills through immersive STEM activities and digital learning experiences designed to open new career opportunities.

The caption explained that, through a partnership with The Odyssey Trust, eight accredited digital skills programmes have already been delivered, helping more than 100 young people build confidence, resilience and workplace skills through the Get Ready initiative.

The organisation added that schools, employers and community partners across Northern Ireland continue to support the programme and encourage young people to pursue future opportunities.

The post concluded by describing the visit as a celebration of “young people, their potential, and the futures they’re creating for their communities.”

While Charles visited W5 LIFE, Queen Camilla separately visited pupils at Fane Street Primary School in South Belfast.
