Duke of Sussex said to be hurt as George and Amal Clooney allegedly distance themselves from Harry and Meghan
Prince Harry is reportedly struggling with the alleged collapse of his friendship with George Clooney and Amal Clooney, with insiders claiming he believes Prince William may somehow be connected to the situation.
According to reports, Harry and Meghan Markle once considered the Clooneys among their closest celebrity allies. George and Amal famously attended the Sussexes’ 2018 royal wedding, and there were even rumours at the time that George could become godfather to Archie.
However, insiders now claim the relationship has cooled significantly since the couple relocated to the United States following Megxit. Sources allege that repeated attempts by Harry and Meghan to reconnect with the Clooneys have either gone unanswered or been politely brushed aside.
A source told Closer Magazine that the friendship breakdown remains especially painful for Harry because he genuinely believed the couples shared a strong bond and future plans together.
The insider claimed Harry had hoped George and Amal would become trusted allies in Hollywood and support the Sussexes’ charitable ambitions after their move to California.
The source further alleged that both Harry and Meghan feel hurt by what they see as being “ghosted,” saying their efforts to reconnect have reportedly failed.
According to the claims, Meghan is also upset by the apparent distance, though the couple are now said to have stopped actively pursuing the friendship.
The insider additionally alleged that Harry privately suspects William could somehow be behind the growing distance, although no evidence has been provided to support that belief.
Neither the Sussexes nor the Clooneys have publicly commented on the reported fallout.
