Paris Jackson says she no longer feels pressured to publicly share details about her relationship with her late father, Michael Jackson.
The 28-year-old singer, model, and actress recently opened up during an appearance on Trying Not to Die, where she reflected on how her perspective has changed over the years.
Paris admitted there was once a time when she believed she had to discuss her connection with the King of Pop publicly.
She explained that she used to feel she “owed it to people” to share personal memories and emotions about her father. However, that mindset has shifted significantly in recent years.
According to Paris, she now values privacy much more and believes personal relationships do not need public validation.
The actress shared that she no longer feels the need to post tributes on social media during important dates such as Father’s Day, her father’s birthday, or the anniversary of his death.
Paris described her bond with Michael as deeply meaningful and personal, adding that she is now comfortable keeping those emotions private rather than displaying them online.
She also stressed that she does not want to express her love for her father by copying the way others remember him.
Paris explained that her relationship with Michael was unique because, in her words, he was not only her father but also her “best friend.”
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50 at his home in Los Angeles. His death was later ruled as acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication that led to cardiac arrest.
