Royal commentators believe one of Prince Harry’s biggest concerns about his place within the monarchy could now be coming true, as public attention increasingly shifts toward his nephew, Prince George.
Interest in the young royal has grown significantly in recent months, with discussions about his future, education, and role within the Royal Family attracting widespread media attention. According to royal biographer Andrew Morton, this growing spotlight could leave Harry feeling more sidelined than ever.
Speaking during a discussion with Richard Kay for Palace Confidential, Morton suggested that Harry’s long-held concern about being overshadowed by the next generation is now becoming a reality.
He noted that George is rapidly growing into his future role and has become a major focus of public interest. Speculation has also intensified over where the future king will continue his education. Morton suggested that Oundle School could be a strong contender, revealing that the family has reportedly visited the school. He added that the same option could potentially be considered for Princess Charlotte as well.
The possibility of the Wales children attending the same school was questioned by Kay, who argued that Eton College may remain the most likely choice for George. He pointed out that an all-boys environment would help shield the young royal from intense media scrutiny during his teenage years and reduce the chances of private moments becoming public spectacles.
Kay also highlighted the practical advantages of Eton, noting its close proximity to the Wales family home and its strong family connection, as it was also attended by Prince William, who is said to have enjoyed his time there.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Harry is hoping to arrange a meeting between his children and King Charles III during the Royal Family’s traditional summer stay at Balmoral Castle, where family members typically gather for their annual break away from official duties.
As George continues to move closer to the centre of royal life, commentators believe the attention surrounding the future monarch may only increase, potentially leaving Harry even further from the spotlight he once feared losing.
