Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing renewed scrutiny after another woman publicly came forward with allegations against him, choosing not to conceal her identity.
The woman, identified as Jess Michaels, claims she was sexually assaulted by the former Duke of York during an incident at Royal Ascot many years ago. She shared her account in an interview with The Telegraph.
Speaking to the publication, Michaels alleged that concerns about Andrew's conduct were known within royal circles long before recent controversies emerged.
“Six years ago, the Palace knew Andrew wasn’t just a problem; he could face a criminal investigation. And they sat on it,” she said.
She also expressed support for the late Virginia Giuffre, adding, “Protecting him meant doubting her. Virginia Roberts Giuffre was telling the truth, and she didn’t live to see them admit it. That breaks my heart and it should break everyone’s.”
Michaels further criticised institutions that she believes shield influential figures from accountability.
“This is what institutions do. They protect powerful men and leave the people they harmed to carry it,” she stated.
The latest allegations arrive as public attention remains focused on Andrew's past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a connection that has continued to generate controversy in recent years.
Reports have also suggested that Sarah Ferguson has maintained a low public profile amid renewed interest in matters connected to Epstein and the release of related documents by US authorities.
Andrew stepped back from public royal duties and lost his military affiliations and royal patronages following the fallout from his association with Epstein. While allegations and accusations surrounding the former royal have continued to surface, he has consistently denied wrongdoing.
