Princess Kate delighted royal fans as she made a surprise appearance with her eldest son, Prince George, ahead of Armed Forces Day.
The Princess of Wales and Prince George visited the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, marking the young royal’s second official engagement alongside his mother.
During the visit, Kate and George learned about the historic aircraft and met the pilots and engineers who help keep their legacy alive.
Kensington Palace later shared a video from the outing with the caption: “Honouring Service and Sacrifice.”
The palace statement read: “Marking Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby. Learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive.
“A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve.”
In the video, Prince George appeared excited as he sat in the pilot’s seat of one of the aircraft. Princess Kate also took a turn in the cockpit during the visit.
Royal fans were quick to react to the sweet mother-son outing.
“Aww what a wonderful surprise!!! I’m sure Prince George absolutely loved this visit with his mother,” one fan commented.
Another wrote: “So sweet to see George with his mum.”
A third fan added: “Can’t believe we got a lovely engagement of the Princess of Wales and Prince George. How lovely.”
The appearance comes amid reports that Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is expected to join Eton in the future.
