Kate Middleton is still hoping for a royal reconciliation, but according to a new insider claim, she fears the window to repair Prince Harry’s relationship with his family may be closing.
The Princess of Wales has reportedly remained one of Harry’s quieter supporters over the years, especially when it comes to the hope that he and Prince William might eventually find their way back to each other.
Speaking to Closer, a source claimed that Kate still wants the brothers to heal their rift, but she is increasingly worried that too much time has passed.
According to the insider, Kate’s biggest concern is that “the longer they wait to deal with this, the worse it’s getting.”
“She’s even said she fears that this could be the last chance because the longer this goes on, the more the hurt stacks up, and at some point there’s just too much water under the bridge,” the source added.
The insider also claimed that Kate never expected the feud to last this long. In the early days, she reportedly believed there would be a cooling-off period and that, eventually, Harry and William would reconnect.
Instead, the source said, the distance between the brothers appears to have grown with every passing year.
“It might not be quite so heartbreaking if they’d always been at odds,” the insider said, “but they used to be so close, they were two peas in a pod.”
King Charles is also said to share some of Kate’s concerns. The source claimed that the situation feels deeply sad to those around the family, especially because of the emotional toll it may be taking on both brothers.
Kate is reportedly worried about how the anger and bitterness are affecting William, but the insider said she is especially concerned for Harry.
“She’s convinced he’s really suffering right now,” the source claimed, adding that Kate believes Harry looks “increasingly unhappy” in recent photos.
For now, Kate’s hope for reconciliation remains alive. But according to the report, she fears that if the family waits much longer, the chance to repair the damage may slip away for good.
