Kensington Palace has released a special video highlighting Prince William and Princess Kate’s appearance at Royal Ascot on Wednesday, marking another notable public engagement for the Princess of Wales.
Alongside the video shared on social media, the palace said the royal couple were “delighted to present the trophy for The Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.”
Royal Ascot, one of Britain’s most prestigious horse racing events, dates back to 1711 and remains a major fixture in the royal calendar. This year’s event began on Tuesday, with King Charles III and Queen Camilla attending the opening day.
Kate’s appearance carries added significance after she withdrew from a planned visit to Royal Ascot last year. At the time, royal sources said she was carefully managing her return to public duties while recovering from cancer treatment.
The Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis in 2024 and announced in September that she had completed chemotherapy. Since then, she has gradually resumed public engagements, balancing her recovery with royal responsibilities.
Her attendance at this year’s Royal Ascot was warmly received by royal watchers and marked another step in her return to public life.
