King Charles welcomed a number of distinguished recipients to Windsor Castle on Tuesday as he hosted an investiture ceremony celebrating individuals who have made outstanding contributions to British society.
Among those honoured was acclaimed actor and humanitarian Idris Elba, who received recognition for his services to young people and his commitment to community development projects over the years.
The British royal family's official Instagram account shared photographs from the ceremony, congratulating all recipients who received honours from the King.
The palace wrote: "Congratulations to everyone who received honours at today’s Investiture ceremonies, hosted by The King at Windsor Castle."
The post also highlighted several recipients, including Idris Elba for services to young people, ice skating legends Torvill and Dean for their contributions to the sport and voluntary service, Dame Meera Syal for services to literature, drama and charity, Betty Brown OBE for services to justice, and Paul Chuckle MBE for charitable service.
Images from the ceremony captured the special occasion as Idris Elba and fellow recipients knelt before King Charles while receiving their honours at the historic royal residence.
