A new report claims William is unhappy with Harry’s plans for a Princess Diana tribute project involving Meghan Markle.
Next year will mark 30 years since Prince William and Harry lost their mother, Princess Diana, and reports suggest the milestone is already creating fresh tensions between the brothers.
According to Closer, Prince Harry is considering a new Netflix project to commemorate the anniversary of Diana’s death. Sources claim the Duke of Sussex wants Meghan Markle to play a prominent role in the production, a decision that has reportedly frustrated his estranged brother.
An insider told the publication that Harry remains convinced Meghan shares many of the qualities he most admired in his mother and believes she should be involved in the project.
“As much as it might upset William, Harry genuinely sees Meghan as a modern reflection of many of Diana’s best qualities,” the source claimed. “He wants her to be part of this journey and contribute to the project.”
The source added that the anniversary carries deep emotional significance for Harry, who still feels the loss of his mother intensely.
“Thirty years may have passed, but Harry says there are moments when it feels like it happened yesterday,” the insider said. “The pain remains very real for him.”
According to the report, Harry feels a strong responsibility to preserve Diana’s legacy, particularly her humanitarian work. He reportedly believes that public discussions about Diana often focus on royal controversies and the circumstances surrounding her death rather than the charitable causes she championed.
The source said Harry views a documentary as an opportunity to highlight Diana’s lasting impact and ensure her contributions are remembered by future generations.
However, the report claims William is deeply sceptical of the project and views it as another attempt by Harry and Meghan to profit from their royal connections, further widening the divide between the brothers.
