Buckingham Palace shares glimpse of royal audience during diplomatic visit to London
King Charles welcomed Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the United Kingdom and the West African nation.
The Royal Family's official Instagram account shared a photograph of the King and President Mahama posing together during the meeting.
The caption accompanying the post stated: “This afternoon, the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, was received in audience by The King at Buckingham Palace.”
President Mahama is currently visiting London as part of efforts to promote Ghana as a leading destination for investment, strengthen economic ties with the UK and engage with members of the Ghanaian diaspora.
In addition to his audience with King Charles, the Ghanaian leader is also expected to meet with Keir Starmer during his stay.
His visit includes several high-profile engagements, including ringing the opening bell at the London Stock Exchange. He is also scheduled to deliver speeches at Chatham House and the 12th Africa Debate at Guildhall.
The meeting at Buckingham Palace highlights the continued diplomatic and economic relationship between the United Kingdom and Ghana, with both nations seeking to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors.
